What are Lithium Ion Batteries?

At BlueNova we manufacture Lithium Ion Batteries. In essence, Lithium Ion Batteries exist because of the discovery of lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2). When you pair a lithium cobalt oxide cathode with a graphite anode (in most cases), intercalation of lithium ions between layers of graphene takes place. This takes place in the spaces that occupy the enclosed site between single hexagonal rings of carbon atoms.

When you charge a lithium ion battery, the lithium ions move from the positive electrode, or the cathode, through a solid / liquid electrolyte to the negative electrode, or the graphite anode. While the battery runs down this process occurs in reverse. Lithium iron phosphate is one of the chemistries found in the lithium-ion family.

Very satisfied with allround service. Fitted battery to my golf cart and completed 18 holes with ease.
After the round I charged the battery to see if it could do two rounds of golf with a single charge,but was disappointed as the battery could not even get from the parking area to the first tee box. I suspect the reostat switch had accidently become activated in my vehicle where the cart and golf clubs had been for a few days.
I had to pull my cart and after the round of golf I put the batteey on charge once more. I have repeatedly checked the installed battery and now after 5 days it seems to be working 100%. In 3 days time I will venture onto the golfcourse again and fully expect to be satisfied with the battery.

Among my peers, BlueNova LiFePO4's has a good reputation. Not much personal experience with the product but my observations so far... I charged the battery at 2A to 14.4V - no noticeable heating. I ran an inverter for 3 hours straight until the UV (10V) of the battery turned everything off - I was not monitoring the actual current consumption but I was powering a laptop and 19" screen off a Victron Phoenix 12/250. Happy with the result.

Brilliant product

I purchased this product to replace a SLA battery. The battery was delivered quickly and the job was a plug and play replacement, with exactly the same dimensions as the SLA. Although Lithium is a lot more expensive, I got 200% more time out of this product during load shedding. Highly recommended.
