Poor picture, good product

On the picture it looks like there are three holes in the flange and two in the gasket, but there are only three holes in the flange as it should be. One fits the element and one fits the tube for the thermostat. The medium sized artifact is just a depression and not a hole. It fits perfectly on a six hole Kwikot geyser.

Neither the flange, not the thermostat tube has a way to secure the thermostat if the geyser is mounted vertically. This seems to be an oversight. This is not a disaster, but it would have been nice if there was some sort of tab or threaded depression that could be used to secure the thermostat.

I purchased these items in order to install the 1.5kw 220v Geyser Wise solid-state element.
As I am running my house on a hybrid inverter, semi-off-grid, I did not need to purchase the dual 900w dc/ 1.5kw AC element. I had already purchased the geyser-wise controller kit and needed the flange, gasket, and sensor tube to complete the installation. The entire kit fitted well and I had no issues with the installation. As I only have six of the 12 PV pannels up at the moment the element will raise the temperature of the water to 55c easily at peak solar from around 11 am to 3 pm but can not cope with more than one on period. I am confident that with all 12 panels up and the 9kw of battery power I have. I will be able to keep the existing program of raising the temp to 55c in the morning and late afternoon. and keeping the temp at 45c through the night. this appears to work quite efficiently. My kwikot dual 500 100l geyser had a 4kw element in it and the solar at peak could not drive it for more than 10 min because of the voltage drop on the batteries to below the acceptable threshold, thus switching the inverter off. the 1.5 kW element heats the water to 55c from as low as 22c in just under an hour whereas the 4kw element takes around 3/4 of an hour when tested on utility power. So I use 1.5kwh as opposed to 3kWh of electricity.
